Check out what happened at our Sooner Rotary Meeting on September 17: 
  • Jack Beller announced plans for hosting the second polio eradication fundraiser dinner at his home at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 23.  Please inform Jack if you're planning on attending at His address is 4423 Ridgeline Dr. in Norman. Drinks and pizza will be provided by the club. A donation of $25 to the Rotary Foundation is appreciated.
  • Grover announced the following members with perfect attendance: Susan Bussey, Jack O’Hare, Tanya Stewart, Jonathon Winders, Denise Kueny, Sam Ott, Katie Kimberling, Polly Christian, Susan Whiteneck, Lucinda Francis, and Kevin Murphree. Congrats all!
  • Noah Milligan fulfilled the requirements and was presented with his Blue Badge by Club President Jane Purcell.
  • Representatives from Norman Regional Health System visited to remind us that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  
  • Cross Timbers Rotary is hosting a fundraising luncheon at 11 am and at noon on October 15 and 16 at Outback Steakhouse . Tickets are $15 and can be obtained from Russ Davoren ( or 405-329-8882).
Meeting Presentation: Noah Milligan talked about his new book and passion for reading and writing.
  •       Noah joined Sooner Rotary this past May 2019.
  •      While he is a First Liberty Bank vice president in marketing, he works part time writing stories.
  •      His mother exposed Noah as a child to books.
  •      After school he wanted to pursue writing, and majored in English Literature.
  •      In 2011 he published his first story “Jesse James Revolver," a fictional story about the dark side of a suicide with a gun that was Jesse James. He also started writing his first novel about String Theory and the association of it to a               murder in “An Elegant Theory”
  •      He published a second book of short stories titled “Five Hundred Poor."
  •      His new book will be released in October titled “Into Captivity They Will Go."
