A message from Club Past President Jane Purcell re: the vote: "Hopefully, you've had time to read Bill and Jack's emails about the Board's search for a new meeting location. If you haven't, please find and read them. They, and others, have researched an extensive list of locations. They presented these options to the Board of Directors last Friday who voted to bring forth to club membership the two locations that best fit the meeting needs and budget of our club. Please know that the committee has been working on this for quite some time and has not rushed into this decision." The two locations: Jimmie Austin Golf Club -- 4 Ransom Dr, Norman, OK 73019 Jimmie Austin Golf Club provides a buffet style breakfast, recently renovated venue, higher level audio/video equipment, all set up and clean up done by the Golf Club not the Rotary club, freeing our members up from these weekly tasks, plenty of parking. The cost is $15 per person which includes use of the facility. The management expressed that they really want us there, that our club meeting at this location would bring value to them. The Assistance League of Norman -- 809 Wall St, Norman, OK 73069 The Assistance League of Norman provides plenty of seating and audio/video equipment, parking but no food (this option would require us to not provide breakfast or assign members to order and pick up food on the way to each meeting. The cost is $100 per meeting for the facility and Rotary would cover any cost of bring food for each meeting and be responsible for set up and clean up. The Assistance League has been very welcoming to us while we reviewed the possibility of using their facility as a meeting location. Per Dr. Beller and Bill Wallace: There is no one that we have contacted that is willing to cater at 7 a.m. Per Dr. Jack Beller: "We looked a many options for meeting locations. All had some problems: limited parking, not available for another 1-2 months, poor A/V availability, not available at am, intermittently not available on Tuesdays, too expensive, guaranteed number required, pre-payment required, room rental beyond our budget possibilities, room not big enough, inability to store our equipment, and poor physical layout."
