That's the news from Terry Connor, the new publisher of the Norman Transcript. Arriving in October from Atlanta, GA, Terry has taken on the responsibility of leading the longest continuously run business in Norman.

Terry updated our club on the value of our community newspaper and the plans for its future. We were reminded that it is the community newspapers that are the fiber of America, publishing the significant events of our lives including wedding and birth announcements, lifetime recognitions and the deaths of friends and families. It's those yellowed articles and pictures that are passed from one generation to the next and they are more likely found in our local newspapers. The Transcript's introduction of the Norman Magazine with the lead article, "It's All About You", has provided even more opportunities to recognize what is special about Norman, OK, including our very own Le Tour de Vin.

Terry's responsibilities include oversight of 23 daily and weekly newspapers throughout OK. Terry travels from one side of the state to the other reaching Stillwater, Enid, Woodward, Durant, Ardmore, Goldsby and Pauls Valley regularly, though Norman is the base of his operations.

A newspaper that began as The Pioneer Press in July, 1889, the Norman Transcript has continued to change with the times. Goals for the future include transforming the Transcript to a fully digital publication, including the ability for subscribers to receive text alerts with breaking news; promoting the Norman Magazine, and leading this community to a better tomorrow.
