Ronald Reagan Elementary School is not only the newest addition to the Norman Public School system.

The school will offer 52 kindergarten students an opportunity to participate in immersion education for their successive school years.

Norman Sooner Rotary was introduced to the concept at our Tuesday morning meeting. Recognizing the value of introducing a second language at an early age, Norman Public Schools has designed the immersion program which provides math and science classes taught in French. Students will be spending half of their school days conversing in French and then the rest of the day studies will be conducted in English. Each year the group will move to the next school year incorporating the immersion classroom concept.

In addition to the introduction of the immersion program at Ronald Reagan, Norman Public Schools is completing various projects throughout the district to upgrade and modernize schools. and individual classrooms.

NPS also joined with Norman Sooner Rotary to support the Bolivian water project by providing bookmarks to be sent to students in La Calima. Check out the photos above to see the results.
