First Committee Meeting for 2011/2012 Year, July 19, 2012
Sooner Rotarians gathered in their respective committees on Tuesday morning, energetic and motivated by Don Sherman's chant, "Every Rotarian, Every Year".Committee chairs were recognized. Instead of a guest speaker our meeting focused on committee duties, tasks and goals. Members brainstormed with committee chairs on ideas for the upcoming year.
Sooner Rotary President, Denise Kueny covered the Fiscal Years budget, detailing for members the club expenses and sources of revenues generated. C.E. announced that deadline to update profiles was July 19th. Directories will be available shortly. Bill Osborn handed out quarterly dues.
Grover recognized perfect attendance and anniversaries from January through June. The perfect attendance totaled more than 300 years for Sooner Rotarians! Great job!
It is with regret that Denise announced Sally Shauberger had stepped down as Co-Chair of Fundraising, as she will be traveling extensively this year. The immediate need for chairing the Slice of Night golf event was accepted by Rodney Young and supported by the Club. Slice of Night is solely sponsored by Sooner Rotary and is our greatest source of fundraising revenue.
James Harp, Membership Chairman, announced that 3 applications are awaiting member review and Board approval; we hope to introduce them soon!
